U13s go down in Penalty Shootout
Hard luck to the 13s who despite going a second successive season without conceding a goal in the Cherry Hinton Lions Tournament lost out in a penalty shootout to a strong Haverhill Rovers side who gained sweet revenge on our success on them last year. Despite our 'usual' slow start the boys battled their way to the final and over the 15 mins probably deserved to win it.......as for the penalties, NEVER MIND!!!!!!!! 13's 'Terriers' win Willingham Wolves 5 a sideCongratulations to the 'B' Team who having knocked out the 'A' in the semi-final went on to beat Bar Hill 1-0 in a closely fought final.

Well done all the players below on a great start to the season.
Super Blues win the Mitre Cup in Clacton
A fantastic weekend in Clacton saw the 12s add the Mitre Cup to the Championship to complete a memorable double for the Players, Coaches, and Parents. A draw from our first game then 4 straight wins saw us book our place in the final against an impressive Basildon Town side. Four hours of non stop rain and a breezy coastal wind was taking it's toll on everyone, but the boys dug in and a tense 5-4 penalty shoot-out win paved the way for a night of celebrations. Massive thanks to Jenny for organising the event......we loved every minute of it!!!

'Terriers' 12s clinch title with last day win at Ely Well done to the boys who clinched the U12A League title with a 6-1 victory at Ely Crusaders

12s win the 'Lions' Tournament.
The 12s have had their first ever succes in the 'Lions' Tournament. With only 11 players available for the whole event, the boys turned in some excellent displays from start to finish. In 140 minutes of football we never conceded a goal and in return banged in 11 at the right end.Our results were - St Ives 1-0, Newmarket B 3-0, Sawston 2-0, Walpole Warriors 3-0, Cherry Hinton Lions (SF) 1-0, and Haverhill Rovers (F) 1-0
Norwich City v Teversham Colts
The 12's enjoyed a great afternoon out at the Norwich City Training Centre when they were invited to play the 'Canaries' U11 Academy side. On a fantastic playing surface (similar to the rec)!!! the boys put on a great show with an excellent performance. |
